Access to quality care

Rotary makes high-quality healthcare available to vulnerable mothers and children so that they can live longer and develop more strongly.

We are expanding access to quality care so that mothers and children everywhere have the same opportunities for a healthy future. Every year, an estimated 5.9 million children under the age of five die as a result of malnutrition, inadequate health care and poor sanitation, all of which can be prevented.‎

Rotary offers education, vaccinations, birth kits and mobile health clinics. Women are taught how to prevent the transmission of HIV from mother to child, how to breastfeed and how to protect themselves and their children from diseases.‎

More than 70 million people have been displaced as a result of conflict, violence, persecution and human rights abuses. Half of them are children.
