Young Chef

Young Chef Competition Attracts Sponsorship and Support from Hotel Group The Perin’s School Technology Dept which is led by Ms Sarah Gibbs provided an ideal venue for the RIBI Young Chef Competition which was sponsored by the Holiday Inn, Winchester and judged by their highly regarded chef Robert Quehan and his Holiday Inn associate Elizabeth Davies, ably assisted by Mrs. Christine Laine on behalf of the Rotary Club of Alresford. All of the judges, as well as Stephen Pinch, the competition organizer, were highly impressed with the presentation of the dishes and the quality of thought which had gone into their preparation, to say nothing of the flavours which were exhibited when the judges began their tasting. The dishes which ultimately won the competition were Sea Bass with Fresh Orange and Moroccan Stuffed Aubergines with Poached Egg prepared by Jack Cooper and Talia Burrell and a very close second were the dishes of Salmon with Roasted Vegetables with Apple Tart Tatin prepared by Charlie Perren, Tom Lock and Katie Turner.
