Virtual 10k a great success

An amazing total of 50 runners (31 men, 19 women) ran the Alresford Virtual 10k. Patrick Stephenson of Alresford was the overall winner in 38 minutes and 5 seconds, with Clare Read topping the women's race in 52 minutes and 48 seconds.
It wasn't all about winning though; the idea was to give local runners something to focus on whilst there are no mass participation runs going on. For some people like Alysa Curtis it was the first time they had completed the 10k distance, a great personal achievement. If you have a special story to tell about the run, do let us know.
Thanks to everyone's generosity, a total of over £1000 was raised for the local NHS and Hardship funds.
Becky Smith's fantastic medal biscuits went down very well, with people facing a real problem over whether to eat them or keep them. We've still got some of the icing toppers for the medals left and when Becky re-opens the Arlebury Cafe we'll invite local junior runners to come and run around the park and get a medal - watch out for the announcement.
