Have fun and enjoy it

After a difficult COVID - 19  year, Alresford Rotary Club wants to brighten up the town. What could be better than having fun with a song contest for the festive season?  Our very own local ‘Christmas Carol/Song Singing with a difference’ raising funds for local good causes in our community.   So how does it work? All you need to do, safely, in the comfort of your own home, is record or video a (single) Christmas Carol or Song of your choosing (remember no household mixing and keep to COVID guidelines). It should be a maximum of 3 minutes long.

  1. To enter the competition email your details to rotary.alresford.giving@gmail.com Please include your name and postcode in your email. We look forward to receiving your entry.
  2. You will be asked to upload your sound recording or video. As the file will be huge you will need to do this by WeTransfer, or another file transfer tool of your choice. (to find WeTransfer.com enter it into your browser and it should come up).  The use the WeTransfer service is free after signing up.
  3. There is no entry fee. We suggest giving a donation (minimum £5) through our Just Giving site: Just Giving. All proceeds go to local Rotary charities.
  4. If you have any trouble uploading send us an email at rotary.alresford.giving@gmail.com and we will try to help.
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS IS 9 PM ON JANUARY 5th.  We are not looking for high-quality sound recording but just you having fun and giving it your very best. Have fun and enjoy your musical Christmas! A panel of judges will watch all submitted videos and voice recordings and allocate prizes for children and adults. For full rules of the contest visit the Rules page. We will be announcing the winners in January. If people agree we will share some of the videos. Whether you win or not we hope you have fun and through your donation, you will contribute to making it a better Christmas for those less fortunate. This event is brought to you by Alresford Rotary Club, a charity organisation that supports our local community as well as international good causes such as Polio Eradication and Micro Financing small businesses in the developing world.
