Fish and Chips at Hayling Island

On July 25th Driver Ken accompanied by Tony, took a party of eleven pensioners from Bishops Sutton in the community coach to  Mick Merritt’s childhood haunts on Hayling Island for a fish and chip supper. Ken did a superb job of navigating between Bishops Sutton and Bighton to pick up the outlying customer and we soon headed off for the coast. On arrival - on information provided by Mick we obtained portions of OAP fish and chips at the Coastguard Café for all, which we enjoyed on the seafront before Ken took us to a 'nice quiet little pub' at the ferry. Much to every-ones' surprise it was 'motor-bikes are us' night and some one hundred bikers had descended on the Ferry Boat Inn as well as us, which added to the interest, before we retraced out steps to Bishops Sutton. Everyone seemed to have had a very enjoyable evening out. Ken picked up a sizable donation towards the Rotary cost of the evening. First stop was the Coastguard Café for 14 fish and chips at a fiver each with bags of added sauces and vinegar.
